I am vice-chairman of Oulu city excutive board and a city councillor and the chairman of Green council group in Oulu. I work as an architect. I run for parliamentary election since I want to prevent climate change, advance equality and to fight poverty.

The main theme of my campaign is preventing the climate change. This election shows if Finland stands in the frontline. Now is the time to make decisions because time is running out. Within the next electoral term Finland needs to make health and social security reform to prevent poverty, increase funding for education and support equality and human rights globally.

Together we can make these elections the ones where Finland changes course for the best of people and climate.

Let´s save winters of Finland
The climate change proceeds and it has affected on living conditions also here in the north when southern biotopes have spread here. The animal species are moving to the north but soon they will run out of living space when they meet the Arctic Ocean. The climate change has increased
drought around the world so that living conditions have become impossible in several places. In Finland the climate change will increase the amount of extreme weather conditions, such as hot weather. Also, we can say goodbye to our snowy winters when the average temperature rises. What will our planet be like in 22 nd century when children that are born today might still live? It depends on us.

The carbon footprint of the Finns is multiple when compared for instance with the Indians. We need to decrease our emissions ambitiously. Finland needs to set a goal to be carbon neutral in the year 2030 and to be a pioneer in the prevention of climate change.

The improving of rail connections needs to be one of the main priorities in the next electoral season. The double rail between Ylivieska and Oulu needs to be done as soon as possible. It is important to enable the under four hour train connection from Oulu to Helsinki.

Erase poverty from Finland
The success of welfare societies is measured by how we treat the people in the weakest positions. For me it is hard to understand how things have gotten this bad in Finland: over 160 0000 children are threatened by poverty and the risks of becoming marginalized. Every Finnish child deserves a hobby, warm clothes and nutritive food seven days a week. For too many children these things are not something taken for granted.

Stop social inequality
Every child and teenager deserves equal possibilities in their lives, no matter if the person comes from a disadvantaged family, is an immigrant, lives in the northern Finland, countryside or in suburbs. The society needs to compensate the differences in our backgrounds via free education
and wellbeing services. No one should diminish their dreams because of their background.

Previous electoral seasons have cut the funding of education and science by 1,5 billion starting from the early childhood education. Education and know-how have enabled our success and they are our strengths in the global markets also in the future.

Public health-care should not be given to private markets. Private providers may only have a supporting role in producing of services. Every senior citizen and ill person deserves to get the best possible care.

Increase equality and safety
Finland can be considered as a model country of equality, but we are not ready yet. The safety of everyday life is a prerequisite for good life. We need to protect the self-determination of women and girls and to do our utmost to stop all sexual violence.

We need to help those who are in the greatest need of help. Development cooperation funds need to be increased to 0,7 % of GDP that has been Finland´s goal for a long time. I want that Finland takes responsibility in educating girls, empowering women and promoting minority rights in
developing countries.
